I just wanted to share this since it's been kind of a magic bullet for me. With our first kid I rocked and rocked and rocked to get him to sleep during the infant years. With our second I, on a whim, decided to put to good use the waltzing lessons (just the box step) I took back in highschool to put her down one night. Waltzing this kiddo has been extremely effective. So much so that if she doesn't fall asleep after a couple of circles I can confidently say she's either still hungry or gassy. Hope this tip helps some other parents get their infants to sleep at night. The waltz is super easy to learn, if your curious. My highschool class was maybe an hour long.
