Camping solar lights

Some may not take this as a hack, but I still believe solar lights have become pretty useful for most campers. Just like the solar-powered garden light, the camp solar lights charge through the day and give off enough light through the night to help you avoid those midnight accidents. You’ll just have to place the outdoor solar lights near the tents’ tie-downs or stakes to avoid tripping over things in darkness. Via.

Freezing rice while still hot gives surprisingly decent results when reheating.

I'm super picky about my rice and found this method helps keep the quality up. Portion it up straight out of the cooker and it will have no time to dry out.

For iced coffee, freeze brewed coffee or your creamer of choice in trays overnight. Now your delicious chilled beverage won't be diluted as the 'ice' melts, but instead will be enhanced by the added flavors. Happy summer!!!

To get a perfect slice, you have to warm up your knife in hot water before cutting it and clean it after each slice.

Forgo the Classic Roast Beef at Arby’s

If you order two Junior Roast Beef Sandwiches, rather than the Classic Roast Beef at Arby’s, you can save yourself money. You get the same amount of food, at the same quality – but you pay less for it. Generally, you’ll save at least $1.

Skip the Double Bacon Cheeseburger at Jack in the Box

If you order two Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers at Jack in the Box, and take off one of the buns, and put the patty into the other bun, then you essentially get the Double Bacon Cheeseburger, plus an extra bun, but you pay much less for it. People report that this saves $2.

Go for the Steak N’ Shake’s Double N’ Cheese Steakburger

Instead of ordering the Frisco Melt at Steak N’ Shake, go for the Double N’ Cheese Steakburger instead. Order the Double N’ Cheese plain. Just ask for it with sourdough bread, Swiss cheese and Frisco sauce. You get pretty much the same thing for much less!

Minimize Heat Loss

Conduction is not your friend when it comes to staying warm while winter camping. Minimize heat loss by using an insulated, closed-cell foam sleeping pad on top of your sleeping pad or mattress.
