Apple watch tips

Hitting the 3 second timer does a 10 photo burst to make sure no one blinks, etc.

Clearing Notifications.

In case you weren't already aware, if you have multiple notifications to clear, just force touch in the notification area to clear all. No need to swipe each one.

Siri can schedule in different Time Zones.

In case you are unaware (as I was), you can ask Siri to create a reminder in a certain time zone, and she'll schedule it in whatever time zone you are in.For example, I asked Siri to remind me about a broadcast at 2pm PST, and she scheduled it for 5pm (EST - my time zone).

Turn off all Activity reminders

You may adjust when the Apple Watch informs you about how active you are if you don’t care about receiving those updates throughout the day. Go to Activity > Daily Coaching in the Apple Watch app for iPhone.

Turn off bothersome ‘Stand’ reminders

Annoyed when you’re told to stand by your watch Turn Stand Reminders off in the Apple Watch app for iPhone by going to Activity / Toggle Stand Reminders off. To reactivate Stand Reminders,  follow the same steps as before.

Want some privacy? Turn on your 6-digit passcode

The Apple Watch includes the option of a four-digit passcode by default. But you can upgrade to a six-digit passcode if you want more protection. To do so, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and go to Passcode > De-toggle Simple Passcode > Fill in the blanks with your new six-digit code.

Make your watch more accessible

On the Apple Watch, you can customise a variety of accessibility aspects, including how it responds to your input. Tap on the My Watch tab > Accessibility in the Apple Watch app for iPhone. In these settings, for example, you’ll be able to run on Bold Text and Zoom.

Make vibrations stronger

You may not notice some notifications simply because the haptic (buzz) is not loud enough. This is especially true if you wear your Apple Watch band loosely. To counteract this, you can enable ‘Prominent Haptic,’ which will pre-announce certain frequent warnings via a prominent haptic when enabled. To enable this, head to the Apple Watch’s Settings app > Sounds & Haptics > Scroll down to the Haptics section > Select Prominent from the drop-down menu.

How to use the Apple Watch if you’re left-handed

You may alter the Apple Watch’s orientation by choosing whether you want to wear it on your left or right wrist. Tap the Apple Watch icon on your iPhone Go to the My Watch menu, then to General, then to Watch Orientation. Alter your direction from left to right or vice versa. You may also choose which side of the Digital Crown you want to use.

Use Siri to translate something

Siri can translate in ten languages straight from your Watch. Raise your wrist and say, “How do you say “How are you in Spanish?”
